Can Arsenal Defend the Premier League Crown?

Arsenal begin the 2026/27 Premier League season carrying a different kind of pressure: the pressure of being champions.

After ending a 22-year wait for the Premier League title last season, Mikel Arteta’s side are no longer chasing the dream. They are now the team everyone wants to beat. Arsenal’s title triumph transformed years of near-misses into a moment of celebration for supporters who had waited more than two decades to see the club back at the summit.

That uncertainty could make the campaign more unpredictable, but Arsenal’s stability under Arteta gives them a valuable foundation.

Arteta’s biggest task will be keeping his players hungry while managing the expectations that come with being champions. Arsenal must balance domestic ambitions with their desire to compete at the highest level in Europe.

For supporters, however, this is more than another football season. It is the continuation of a journey that has restored belief, pride and connection between the club and its fans.

The crown is theirs. Now comes the opportunity to defend it, and perhaps begin an even greater chapter in Arsenal’s history.

As Arteta put it, Guimarães can help the team “go even higher.”

The dream has returned to North London. Now Arsenal must show it can last.
