Coventry City are making a powerful statement of intent ahead of their return to the Premier League, with the Sky Blues reportedly agreeing a deal to sign highly rated striker Sidiki Chérif from Fenerbahçe.

The transfer, reported at around €24 million, represents another major investment in Coventry’s ambition to compete at the highest level. Chérif, 19, is understood to be undergoing his medical, with the final formalities expected to follow before the move is completed.

The Guinea-born forward only joined Fenerbahçe earlier this year after making his breakthrough at French club Angers.
