The road to the 2026/27 UEFA Champions League league phase is entering its decisive stage, with clubs across Europe preparing for the final qualifying battles that will determine who earns a place among the continent’s elite.

The Champions League qualifying campaign began on July 7 and will conclude on August 26, with the play-off round providing the final opportunity for clubs to secure their place in the league phase. UEFA confirmed that 29 teams have already qualified directly, leaving seven league-phase places to be decided through qualifying.

The play-off ties are scheduled to be played across August 18–26, putting enormous importance on every goal, save and moment of concentration. Fourteen clubs or pairings were involved in the play-off draw, divided between the champions path and league path.

For the clubs still fighting, this stage represents much more than a place in a prestigious competition. Qualification can transform the fortunes of teams, players and communities, bringing international exposure, valuable revenue and the chance to compete on one of football’s biggest stages.

Behind every tie are players who have spent years chasing the dream of Champions League football. For some clubs, reaching the league phase can represent the reward for domestic success and years of patient development. For others, it is an opportunity to create a new chapter in their history.

The excitement will build further as the successful qualifiers join the teams already assured of their places in the competition proper. The 2026/27 Champions League is scheduled to continue into a league phase beginning in September, before the competition eventually reaches its final in Madrid on June 5, 2027.

As the final qualifying ties approach, the message is clear: the dream remains alive. For the clubs still standing, these matches offer a chance to turn ambition into achievement and give their supporters another reason to believe.
