Galatasaray midfielder Gabriel Sara has praised Victor Osimhen after the Nigerian striker played a decisive role in the club’s 3-2 victory over Göztepe in the Turkish Super Lig on Saturday.

Galatasaray came from behind at RAMS Park to secure three important points, with Osimhen once again proving influential in attack. Göztepe took the lead through Novatus Miroshi before Davinson Sanchez levelled the contest. Sara then put Galatasaray ahead in the second half, before Osimhen converted a penalty to make it 3-1. Göztepe pulled one back through Juan, but the hosts held on for victory.

Osimhen’s contribution extended beyond his goal. The Super Eagles forward produced a clever backheel pass for Sara, who finished clinically to give Galatasaray the lead. Speaking after the match, Sara specifically highlighted the understanding between the two players.

“Osimhen'e daha çok şut atmasını söyledim. Akıllı bir oyuncu. Nereye gideceğimi biliyor. Çok güzel bir pas verdi. Ne mutlu bana ki gol attım,” Sara said, according to Ajansspor. Translated into English, Sara explained that he had told Osimhen to take more shots, described him as an intelligent player who knows where Sara will go, and praised the quality of the pass that created his goal.

The performance underlined the growing attacking chemistry between the Nigerian striker and the Brazilian midfielder. Osimhen repeatedly threatened the Göztepe defence, including with several efforts in the second half, before calmly converting Galatasaray’s penalty in the 63rd minute.

For Galatasaray, the victory moved the defending champions to seven points after three league matches. The result also represented their second consecutive league victory and provided another encouraging sign as the season gathers momentum.

With Osimhen continuing to score, create opportunities and build an understanding with his teammates, Galatasaray will hope this partnership can produce many more decisive moments as the campaign progresses.
