Paris Saint-Germain have been handed a glamorous and demanding route in the 2026/27 UEFA Champions League league phase, with the defending champions set to face Barcelona, Manchester City, Roma, Aston Villa, Galatasaray, Villarreal, Slovan Bratislava and Como.

The draw, conducted in Monaco, has immediately created two of the competition’s biggest attractions: PSG against Barcelona and PSG against Manchester City. The French champions will welcome Barcelona, Roma, Galatasaray and Slovan Bratislava at home, while travelling to Manchester City, Aston Villa, Villarreal and Como.

The meeting with Barcelona promises to be particularly intriguing, bringing together two clubs with enormous European traditions and ambitions. The trip to Manchester City will provide another major examination of PSG’s credentials against one of Europe’s established elite.

Aston Villa also add significant quality to the schedule, while Roma and Galatasaray bring their own European pedigree and passionate supporters. Villarreal, Como and Slovan Bratislava will provide different challenges, ensuring PSG cannot afford to take any fixture lightly.

For PSG, the campaign represents another opportunity to build on their status as reigning European champions. Reuters described the draw as producing “several marquee matchups,” with PSG at the centre of some of the competition’s most anticipated encounters.

The league phase begins from September 8, with each of the 36 participating teams playing eight matches against different opponents. The top eight clubs will advance directly to the Round of 16, while teams finishing from ninth to 24th will enter the knockout phase play-offs.

PSG’s challenge is therefore about more than simply surviving a difficult schedule. It is about showing the consistency, character and ambition required to remain among Europe’s best.
