Hon. Edward John Auta, the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor of Kaduna State on Industrial Training and Development, says his journey in public service has been driven by a commitment to serve humanity, advocate for underserved communities, and create opportunities that improve lives.
Reflecting on his experience in office, Auta described public service as a path marked by both achievements and challenges. He said every experience has strengthened his resolve to continue working for the people while gaining valuable lessons that have prepared him for greater responsibilities.
Auta explained that one of his foremost priorities has been giving a voice to those who often go unheard and providing hope to people facing difficult circumstances. Through advocacy and collaboration with representatives at different levels of government, he has focused on promoting security and development across communities in Kaduna State.

Among the outcomes of these efforts, he highlighted sustained engagements with key stakeholders, including Kaduna State Governor, Senator Uba Sani, on issues affecting security and infrastructure within his zone. He also pointed to the construction of a mini-bridge in his village, agricultural support for local farmers, and employment opportunities secured for some young people as practical examples of development reaching the grassroots.

Despite these accomplishments, Auta acknowledged that managing public expectations remains one of the greatest challenges of leadership. He noted that rising from a community where few have attained similar positions brings enormous pressure, as many people expect personal assistance that may not always be possible to provide.

Looking ahead, Auta urged young people to become active participants in politics rather than remaining on the sidelines. He encouraged them to join political groups, ask informed questions, and work with elected representatives to advance development within their communities. According to him, meaningful progress requires active civic participation rather than passive criticism.
He also reaffirmed his commitment to expanding opportunities for youths and women in governance, attracting development to underserved communities, and supporting legislation that benefits citizens. He disclosed that he is sponsoring a private bill before the Kaduna State House of Assembly aimed at regulating rents and addressing related housing matters while also advocating for policies that support farmers.

Concluding with a message of hope, Hon. Auta encouraged Nigerians to keep pursuing their dreams with determination and faith, expressing confidence that committed leadership, active citizenship, and trust in God can inspire lasting progress for communities across Kaduna State.
